Hershey

Our truck is a 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500HD 4WD dually with a diesel engine. It has the 5th wheel package, High Country trim, and a sun roof. We love the sun roof and use it regularly rather than the AC. To try and keep the front of the camper clean and undamaged we have installed both WeatherTech mud flaps and a Towtector brush to stop rocks, mud, and other debris.

Solly Tude

Our camper is a 2019 Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel. The Solitude line of campers are made for full time RVers like us. It is 41 ft long and has a GVW of 16,800 pounds. Some of our favorite features are: residential refrigerator with ice maker, self leveling system, walk around bed, residential shower, washer/dryer, and central vacuum.

Nikon Z6

The Nikon Z6 is a Full Frame sensor professional level mirrorless camera that we use for landscapes, night photography, and portraits. It is best known for its edge to edge image sharpness and being one of the best video cameras on the market in 2020. We have four lenses for this camera: a Nikon Z 14-30 mm ultra wide angle zoom, a Nikon Z 20 mm 1.8 mm prime used for night photography, a Nikon Z 24-200 mm super zoom and a Nikon Z 100-400 mm zoom used for wildlife and landscapes.

Apps

For photo editing we use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. For video editing we use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premium Rush. All of these programs come in the Photography Bundle from Adobe which is only available as a subscription for $10 per month.

For trip planning we use RV Trip Wizard.com. It costs $39 per year. We are able to plan our routes and know how many miles we will drive each day. This app also has most of the RV parks in the US and Canada, truck stops, various national stores such as Walmart, Camping Worlds, and very importantly low bridges as our camper is 13 ft 8 inches tall. It is not for navigation, but for trip planning.

For daily navigation we use Google Maps. It is not big rig capable, but I review our planned route prior to leaving to ensure Google doesn’t route us under a low bridge.

For hiking Joe uses Gaia GPS Premium it costs $28 per year. It has many trails on the numerous layers and the capability to design your own route. Trails and routes can be downloaded to your phone so it is easy to navigate once you lose cell coverage.
