Jane and I both grew up in West Virginia. We have returned regularly to visit relatives, but never really explored the state since we left in 1985. We believe it is too easy to not fully appreciate places where you live or grow up, so we have decided to see more of West Virginia each time we visit Mom. West Virginia is a beautiful state with many natural wonders awaiting. We did several small home repairs for Mom, and one day the three of us visited Kanawha Falls, Hawks Nest State Park, and Babcock State Park. We all had a good time.
The mill at Babcock State Park. This mill is an iconic West Virginia image. The entire park is beautiful and well worth visiting.

Charleston, the state capital and our home town. West Virginia is a beautiful state; we’ll be doing more exploring on future visits.
Great photography to go with the story. I plan on following your adventure in the future.
My first viewing occurred in my tree stand in Wautoma Wi. 7 degrees and snowing!
